Online Tuition & Home Ed

Not every young person fits neatly into a school timetable or a crowded classroom. We provide calm, focused, specialist tuition in Drama, Film Studies and LAMDA for ages roughly 9–18, including home educated students, neurodiverse students, anxious learners and students who just need more 1:1 attention than they’re currently getting.

Our aim is simple: confidence in performance, clarity in written work, and results in exams.

What we teach

GCSE & A Level Drama (AQA)

  • Set texts / practitioner work
  • Devising and performance support
  • Written exam technique
  • Coursework polish and refinement

GCSE & A Level Film Studies (WJEC)

  • Film analysis, structure and terminology
  • Essay writing and exam strategy
  • NEA/coursework guidance and feedback
  • Understanding how to “talk film” like an examiner

LAMDA Acting & Speaking in Public (Grades 1–8)

  • Solo and duo coaching
  • Speaking with clarity and confidence
  • Interview / presentation skills for older students
  • Higher grades carry UCAS points

We’ll always meet them where they are, not where a scheme of work says they “should” be.

Daytime tuition for Home Ed families

Because we are not tied to school hours, we offer daytime slots for home educated students.

This means

  • no waiting until 7pm for a tutor
  • quieter, lower-pressure learning environment
  • room for breaks, movement, regulation and processing
  • work that is tailored to the learner’s pace, interests and next steps, not a one-size-fits-all class

We can cover ongoing curriculum support (Drama / Film at GCSE or A Level), focused assessment prep, or structured LAMDA progression across the year.

After-school and evening support

We also teach after school for students currently in mainstream education who need:

  • exam boosters
  • coursework rescue
  • performance coaching before practicals
  • someone who “gets” them and helps them feel less overwhelmed

Some students work with us weekly all year. Others drop in for a short, targeted block before mock exams or final assessments.

How sessions work

  • Most teaching is online via Zoom. This keeps it accessible and allows us to work with students wherever they are.
  • Sessions are 1:1 or very small group (pairs / trios if students want to learn together).
  • Tone: calm, encouraging, and honest. We use humour, not humiliation.
  • We are used to supporting learners who mask all day in school, learners with SEND profiles, and learners whose confidence has been knocked.

Where possible, for LAMDA exam prep we also offer an in-person intensive session before the exam to settle nerves and polish performance.

We currently have a 100% pass rate in LAMDA, with most students achieving high Merits and Distinctions.

Why parents choose us

  • 16+ years’ classroom and departmental leadership experience
  • Former Head of Creative Arts
  • Professional actor background (including RSC / Shakespeare’s Globe approaches to text and voice)
  • Specialist in Drama and Film Studies — not a generic tutor
  • Experienced working with anxious students, PDA/autistic profiles, and students who don’t “fit” a loud rehearsal room but still deserve a voice

We’re here to build skill and self-belief, not just tick boxes.

Next steps

Tell us:

  1. Age / stage (e.g. GCSE Drama Year 10, A Level Film Year 13, LAMDA Grade 5 Speaking in Public, etc.)
  2. Daytime or after-school availability
  3. Whether confidence/anxiety/SEND is part of the picture (so we pitch the tone right from lesson one)

We’ll suggest a starting plan and an initial session.
