We teach Lamda - Exams and Qualifications

Would you like a LAMDA QualificationFrom this September Curious is expanding its base and offering more of our hugely successful Zoom LAMDA classes, training students in Speech and Drama to attain a much-prized LAMDA QualificationOur aim is for students to get the best qualification they possibly can, a qualification that is recognised and respected by British universities and colleges. Moreover, for higher graded examinations UCAS points are awarded.

What we offer  We principally offer both solo and duo exams in Acting. Our professional actor/teachers support young drama enthusiasts to prepare one, two or three examination pieces, dependent on the grade they are taking. These run from Entry Level to Grade 8 and we establish at the start which grade is suitable. Working on and performing these pieces, whether monologues or duologues, develops a strong speaking voice, improves memory skills, builds self-confidence and the ability to communicate clearly. It is creatively stimulating and, of course, introduces students to some great drama. We approach all chosen speeches in the same way as we work on professional productions in the theatre. In addition to the popular Acting category, others include: Verse and ProseDevisingPublic Speaking and Musical Theatre

How we teach LAMDA lessons with Curious are offered in school break and lunchtime our during a weekly online classes on Zoom. By focussing very much on the text, we are able to keep our hours of teaching to a minimum, while our standards remain high. Proof of this is our excellent results. We have a 100% pass rate, with the vast majority of students achieving high merits and distinctions. Where possible, we provide an intensive in-person session prior to the exam.

Where and when is the exam? Exams take place either once or twice each year at the splendid Sackville Independent School, a recognised LAMDA Examination Centre, situated in beautiful grounds just outside Tonbridge in Kent.

The LAMDA Ethos At the heart of LAMDA examinations is the recognition that the qualifications are for everyone. The examinations unite learners of all ages, abilities, backgrounds and cultures in enthusiasm for the English language and a desire to develop life skills through drama.
